I would guess it all depends on what one sees as riches if God chose the poor of this worls to be rich “in faith”. I see them as spiritual truths not really a teaching where godliness is a means to financial gain. Godliness with contentment is great gain.
Like Paul said, having nothing yet posessing all things, the spiritual riches in Christ are far better
